Sun in harmonious aspect (conjunction, sextile, trine) to another person’s Sun

This is a very helpful aspect in synastry. If your Sun is in harmonious aspect to another person’s Sun, it indicates mutual understanding of each other’s overall personality. You don’t have to explain yourselves to one another; you just “get” each other. Fire and Air signs are in harmonious aspects to one another, and Water and Earth signs are in positive aspect to one another. Air feeds fire, and Water and Earth are a fertile mix. If your Suns are in the same element, your overall characteristics are very similar in important ways, making it easy to appreciate and understand each other’s needs. On the downside, familiarity breeds contempt; your partner may exhibit qualities you like least about yourself, and vice-versa. This is especially applicable to the conjunction. Nevertheless, this is a great aspect for friendship, as well as for a romantic relationship.

Sun opposite Sun:

Ever hear the phrase, “opposites attract”? This is an intriguing aspect. You have many differences, but at the same time, you balance each other out. Indeed, your personalities are complementary to one another. At the same time, there is a fundamental difference in your temperaments, which can lead to conflict. The Sun is a masculine planet, so beware of ego clashes!

Sun square Sun

If your Suns are square, it means they share the same modality (i.e. Geminis and Virgos are both mutable, Capricorns and Libras are both cardinal, etc..).  This means you handle life’s problems in a similar way. However, the square also indicates you differ in temperament and life goals, which can lead to conflict. This aspect indicates a lack of understanding of each other’s personalities. If you are both mutable, your changeable and adaptable natures may cause you to drift apart; if you are both Cardinal, you are both dynamic, action-oriented, which can give rise to competitiveness; If you are both Fixed, the both of you are stubborn, loyal, and attached, so it may be easy to feel “stuck” with each other.

Sun conjunct, sextile or trine the other person’s Moon

This is one of the strongest aspects two people can have in synastry. This is especially powerful if the woman is the Moon person, and the man is the Sun person. This is because in a Sun-Moon combo in synastry, the Moon person tends to be the more dependent, supportive person, while the Sun leads the relationship, and some men feel uncomfortable in the “submissive” role. Either way, this is a strong indicator of overall compatibility. There is a feeling that you can rely on one another. This aspect is often found in the synastry charts of married couples.

Sun opposite Moon

This is a binding aspect to be found between lovers. With this aspect, a mutual attraction is present. However, the Moon person may find the Sun person insensitive and overbearing, while the Sun person may find the Moon person overly dependent and overly sensitive. The Moon person may feel the Sun person stomps all over their feelings, and the Sun person may not even be aware of this! Regardless, oppositions in synastry are complementary.

Sun square Moon

This aspect is more problematic than the opposition. The Moon person may find the Sun person overly rational, dictatorial, and selfish, while the Sun person may find the Moon person overly sensitive and emotional. Attraction to one another is present, but it is not without tension and competitiveness. They find it hard to support one another, because there is a basic misunderstanding over what each person needs.

Sun conjunct, sextile, or trine Mercury

Mercury synastry aspects are undervalued in astrology, in my opinion. What kind of relationship can you have, if you can’t even talk to one another. Sun-Mercury aspects in synastry are thus very important. In harmonious aspect, Sun-Mercury aspects stimulate communication between partners. They like to speak to one another, and have similar intellectual interests. This isn’t an indicator of a wild, passionate romance, but having good communication with your mate is one of the most important aspects of a successful relationships.

Sun opposite Mercury

This aspect indicates a difference of opinions and perspectives on intellectual issues. This aspect indicates lively mental exchanges and interesting conversations.

Sun square Mercury

With this aspect, there comes a tendency to criticize each other’s viewpoints. The Sun person may feel sensitive to Mercury’s criticism, and Mercury may find the Sun person defensive. It’s hard to “get” what the other is saying with this aspect. With a little patience and understanding, you can learn a lot from one another.

Sun conjunct, sextile, or trine the other person’s Venus

This is a very positive aspect to find in synastry. The Venus finds the Sun person attractive, and the Sun person feels loved and adored around the Venus person. Indeed, being around the Venus person gives the Sun person an ego boost! The Venus person instinctively knows how to love the Sun person. This isn’t an indicator of sexual attraction, but rather one of pure love and affection. This is a wonderful aspect to find in friendships, as well.

Sun opposite Venus

This aspect is commonly found in long-term relationships. With this aspect, you like spending time with each other and socializing together. This aspect indicates a deep friendship based on mutual interests. However, the Venus person might feel underappreciated in her efforts to please the Sun person, while the Sun person may find the Venus person superficial and self-indulgent.

Sun square Venus

This aspect definitely produces mutual attraction, but can cause problems in terms of understanding each other’s values. The Venus person may feel the Sun person doesn’t appreciate her efforts to please him, and the Sun person may find the Venus person superficial. This aspect can indicate a real lack of caring and consideration for one another, especially on the part of the Venus person.

Sun conjunct, sextile, or trine Mars

This is a great aspect, as it indicates sexual attraction to one another, especially on the part of the Mars person. You energize one another, and respect each other’s individuality. This aspect also indicates a healthy competitiveness between the two of you.

Sun opposite Mars

This is an indicator of strong sexual attraction! Hot, hot, hot! Since Sun and Mars are both masculine planets, it can cause ego clashes, as well. You may try to dominate the other because of this. This aspect is an indicator of conflict and power struggles.

Sun square Mars

This aspect often produces conflict, and even violence, but is an indicator of attraction at the same time. Competitiveness and ego clashes characterize this aspect. You are likely to react to each other in an impulsive manner. It’s likely that you rub each other the wrong way, and know how to get under each other’s skin. You always feel the need to explain your actions to one another, which can be quite draining.

Sun conjunct, sextile or trine Jupiter

This aspect injects your relationship with enthusiasm, optimism, and trust. The Jupiter fosters the Sun person’s self-confidence. Jupiter is generous and trusting towards the Sun person, and the Sun person vitalizes the Jupiter person. You two make wonderful travel companions. You desire to make each other happy, and this will last throughout your relationship.

Sun opposite or square Jupiter

While this aspect indicates mutual generosity and trust, you may tend to overindulge the other. You have a strong desire to make each other happy, but may tend to expect too much from the partnership, which can lead to disappointment. Jupiter has the natural ability to lift up the Sun person’s spirits. Beware of the danger of overspending with one another.

Sun conjunct Saturn

This is a binding connection. The Saturn person stabilizes the Sun person, and the couple truly feels they can depend on one another. You take responsibilities to one another seriously, which is conducive to any successful long-term relationship. However, the Saturn person may be somewhat of a wet blanket to the Sun person. This is because the Sun person brings out the Saturn’s person’s insecurities. Fearing the Sun person’s withdrawal of interest, the Saturn person may criticize and judge the Sun person. Due to this criticism, the Sun person’s self-confidence and enthusiasm may decrease. It is easy for the couple to feel stifled and restricted by the relationship.

Sun sextile or trine Saturn

This is a very helpful aspect in synastry. Saturn feels dedicated and responsible towards the Sun person, and the Sun is supportive of the Saturn person. This aspect indicates the two of you desire to build a lasting relationship together, full of commitment and dedication. In a marriage, you will be dedicated and helpful to one another.

Sun opposite or square Saturn

This is a very difficult aspect to find in synastry, yet it is commonly found in the synastry charts of married couples! Like the conjunction, this aspect indicates the tendency for the Saturn to criticize and nag the Sun person. The Sun person feels blocked and discouraged by the Saturn person. It is as if whatever the Sun person does, it is not good enough for the Saturn person. Still, the feeling of responsibility and duty to one another is present.

Sun conjunct Uranus

This is an electrifying, though unstable aspect. The Sun person finds the Uranus person exciting and unique, yet at the same time unstable and non-committal. This relationship is bound to be spontaneous, but the ability to truly count on one another is tarnished with this aspect. You may have met each other suddenly, and fallen for each other instantly, but maintaining this level of excitement may be the key to making this relationship work. The Uranus person is likely to feel trapped by the Sun person when the relationship gets too routine and stable.

Sun sextile or trine Uranus

This is a positive aspect to find in a synastry chart. You encourage each other’s freedom and independence. Electricity and spontaneity characterize this relationship, but not in an upsetting way like in the case of the conjunction, opposition, or square. This relationship is not suffocating, but not radically unstable, either. A strong attraction to each other is present, especially on the part of the Sun person.

Sun square or opposite Uranus

This is an unstable aspect, and is not conducive to long-term relationships. The relationship most likely started quickly, full of excitement and mutual attraction. However, over time, the Uranus person is likely to feel stifled or “trapped” by the Sun person, and the Sun person is likely to find the Uranus person unpredictable and unstable. The couple may be separated at key moments, and may not be able to truly rely on one another in the long-term.

Sun conjunct Neptune

This is a tricky aspect. While this aspect indicates a strong spiritual connection, it can also lead to deception and dishonesty. The Sun person is likely to see the Neptune person as a soul mate, but this idea may not be based on reality. The Sun person may love the Neptune person for who he thinks she is, rather than who she actually is. Neptune may play along in order to appease the Sun person. This aspect can also indicate a ‘victim-savior’ relationship, in which one depends strongly on the other for support and guidance.

Sun sextile or trine Neptune

This aspect indicates the couple shares a romantic, spiritual bond. You easily forgive each other, and are conscious of each other’s needs. Love easily flows between the two of you. There is a feeling that you have found your soul mate, as you are attuned to each other’s feelings.

Sun square or opposite Neptune

This aspect can indicate delusion and deception. The Sun person may believe he has found his soul mate in the Neptune person, and the Neptune person may play into this role in order to please the Sun person. The Neptune may end up promising more than they can deliver, which can eventually lead to disappointment on the part of the Sun person. Misunderstandings are likely when Neptune is involved in synastry. It is important that you are clear with one another about what you expect out of the relationship.

Sun conjunct Pluto

Pluto is the planet of “no Bullshit”, so there is nothing superficial about this union! Like a moth to a flame, the Sun person is drawn to the Pluto person. The Sun person is likely to be mesmerized and fascinated to the Pluto.  The Pluto usually has the upper hand in the relationship, as the Sun person is enthralled, and even obsessed, with the Pluto person. The Sun person stimulates Pluto’s jealousy and possessiveness. The fear of losing one another is present, as is the desire to know each other’s deepest secrets. This is an indicator of a deep attraction and a powerful sexual connection.

Sun sextile or trine Pluto

This aspect indicates mutual fascination, and the desire to delve into the depths of each other’s minds. This aspect is a lot like the conjunction, except it is less dramatic.

Sun opposite or square Pluto

The two of you have a profound, transformative effect on each other. You experience emotions you never even knew you had as a result of this relationship. This is an indicator of a love-hate relationship. This relationship is characterized by power struggles, as the two of you wish to dominate the other. You are compelled to find out every detail about each other’s lives, and this desire often leads to unhealthy obsession and possessiveness. If you two break up, it will be very difficult to remain friends.

Your Ascendant, also known as your Rising Sign, is the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the time you were born. The Ascendant is specific to the time and place the person was born. Your Ascendant is just as important as your Sun and Moon signs because all the aspects in the chart are filtered through this sign.

The Ascendant is your public persona, the Mask you wear when you first meet people; it’s the “first impression” you give to those around you. Ever been told, “Wow, I thought you were so shy/serious/emotional/optimistic/detached when we first met, but you’re not like that at all!”, or something along those lines? This is often the case when the Sun and Moon signs are in different signs than your Ascendant. The Ascendant also describes your physical characteristics, style, and mannerisms.

  • Fire Ascendants are optimistic, enthusiastic and friendly.
  • Earth Ascendants are practical, serious, and shy.
  • Air Ascendants are intellectual, communicative, and independent.
  • Water Ascendants are emotional, intuitive, and self-protective.

The Descendant is located exactly opposite your Ascendant. For example, if my Ascendant is at 16 degrees Virgo, my Descendant is at 16 degrees Pisces. The Descendant describes what kind of partner we attract.

Saturn transits the 6th house:

When Saturn transits your house of work, health, and habits, you feel overburdened in these areas. This is a time of responsibility and hard work and increased anxiety (the 6th house rules the nerves). Health issues may pop up during this time, so take extra care. This is a great time to go on a diet or begin a new exercise regimen. You are more serious about your health during this time, so use this energy to your full advantage!

Saturn transits the 7th house:

When Saturn transits your house of one-on-one relationships, you take a more serious approach to relationships. This is often the time a person enters their first, committed, serious relationship. Relationships begun under this influence are generally heavy and serious, and the partner may be older. Break-ups often occur during this time (especially when Saturn conjuncts the Descendant), because Saturn forces you to take a good, hard look at your relationships to see what is working, and what is not. This transit can also indicate increased loneliness if you are not partnered up.

Saturn transits the 8th house:

When Saturn transit your house of sex, death, power, and joint resources, your energy turns inward. You may become fascinated by subjects like death and psychology. Unfortunately, I have observed this transit to wreak havoc on one’s sex life. Your approach to sex is more serious during this time. You don’t want to have “fun” sex, you want to have “real” sex. Unless your partner can offer you this, you’re likely to feel dissatisfied with your sexual experiences during this cycle.

Saturn transits the 9th house:

When Saturn transits your house, you develop a serious attitude towards higher education, travel, and philosophy. This is often the time you pursue higher education. Indeed, the 9th house is the last phase before entering the career phase of one’s life. You may take on a more serious, or skeptical, approach to your religion (if any) or belief system. You are attracted to metaphysics and philosophy at this time, and take on a more mature outlook on life. This cycle also favors long-distance travel, which will change your outlook on the world considerably.

Saturn transits the 10th house:

Saturn is “at home” in the 10th house. When Saturn transits your 10th house, career matters, reputation, and social status are at the forefront of your life. This period indicates an increase in responsibility and recognition in your career, especially if you haven’t “cut-corners” in the past to get where you are. Remember: Saturn always rewards hard work. Your professional success might be at the expense of your domestic situation at this time. In contrast, Saturn transiting your 10th house could also restrict your career opportunities, and the person may not find professional success once the transit is over.

Saturn transits the 11th house:

As Saturn transits your 11th house, your relationship with your friends might feel strained. This is a “cleaning out” phase when it comes to friendships; you are no longer satisfied with superficial relationships, so this could possibly be a time of good-byes. You strengthen your relationship with your “true” friends at this time. You may feel less sociable than usual, or feel self-conscious in group settings. Conversely, you might feel more responsible to your friends during this time. The 11th house also represents your long-term goals, so this period could be a time of culmination or restructuring of those goals.

Saturn transits the 12th house:

When Saturn transits your 12th house, you may feel lonely and isolated. This is a wonderful time to sever any ties to negative habits or people you’ve been holding onto. This is a great time to commit to your spiritual practices, such as meditation. This is the time to complete any unfinished business that has been plaguing you. You may become protective over your privacy during time.

Saturn in Synastry

Saturn aspects in synastry are notoriously difficult to handle. Saturn represents depression, restriction, fear of rejection, distancing, as well as commitment. Saturn aspects are certainly binding, but come with many problems.

Sun-Saturn in Synastry

My first ex boyfriend and I had strong Saturn aspects in our synastry chart. It made total sense, given the fact that Saturn was transiting my 7th house at the time. More specifically, my Saturn was conjunct his Sun in Scorpio. My most recent ex had his Sun in Aquarius square my Saturn in Scorpio. Incidentally, he had Saturn transiting his 7th house when we were together.

Sun-Saturn aspects in synastry are apparently very common aspects to find in the synastry charts of married couples and long-term partners. Indeed, my relationships with those two lasted quite a few years, but it wasn’t without difficulty.

As the Saturn person, I felt both insecure and committed to each of them. Each one of them brought out many of my insecurities. Just by being themselves and expressing their individuality, my fears of rejection and getting hurt surfaced. In response, I criticized them and judged them harshly. I wanted to dominate them, control them, and stomp on their fun. I didn’t want them to “grow”, because I was too afraid they would grow apart from me.

Another reason I was so critical of these two guys was because I genuinely thought their ideas, feelings, and beliefs were incredibly stupid. Sounds harsh, I know, but some of their opinions and beliefs simply pissed me off. Instead of calmly voicing my own opinions, I insulted theirs. This, in turn, discouraged them greatly, but I felt I was doing them a favor. When I look back, I know I was a bit too harsh with them, but I felt (and STILL feel) they were childish and needed a good reality check.

The Sun-Saturn energy in synastry is much like the energy between a parent and child. In those two relationships, I felt that I was scolding my misbehaving children.

I was already into astrology when I met the Aquarius guy, so I knew this energy would manifest in our relationship somehow. I tried my best to keep my Saturnian energy in check, but when it came down to it, I simply couldn’t help but criticize him. Trust me- I tried.

Moon-Saturn aspects in Synastry

I recently came out of a relationship that had a Moon-Saturn opposition double-whammy. By “double-whammy”, I mean his Moon opposed my Saturn and his Saturn opposed my Moon. How does this aspect play out between two people, you may ask? Let me tell you.

The way it manifested in my relationship was through major emotional distancing. Him and I would do anything to avoid talking about our feelings. Even when problems arose which made either one of us feel angry, annoyed, jealous, or frustrated, we would not, and COULD not, voice our feelings to one another. I felt that if I told him how I felt, he would reject me, and he felt the same way. Even though I knew he had true feelings for me, self-doubt and fear of rejection would take over, and I’d end up keeping my feelings to myself. The same went for affection; affection did not flow easily between us due to deep-seated fears of rejection, which was ultimately frustrating for both parties. Also, neither of us ever felt we could express our playful, romantic sides around one another; I felt he would not approve of any kind of childishness from me, so I kept my mouth shut.

On the positive side, this relationship is particular was my longest. I think one of the things that made us last so long was the desire to find out what the other person felt. The emotional distancing both frustrated and intrigued me. I wanted to know what was in his heart, and he was dying to know how I felt. We both hung in there, hoping that one day, one of us would say how we truly felt about one another. After a while, we learned to express our feelings to one another, but only in small segments. We were both careful to never uncover “too much” about the way we felt.

Mercury-Saturn in Synastry

Hard aspects (conjunction, square, opposition) from one person’s Mercury to another person’s Saturn indicates a deep respect for each other’s thinking processes and communication. However, it may feel as though there is a communication barrier between the two of you. Saturn has a way of making Mercury feel as though she is not as intelligent or bright as the Saturn person. Saturn might “shut down” the ideas and opinions of the Mercury person through criticism and belittling, which can have a negative effect on the Mercury person’s self-confidence. Indeed, Mercury might feel self-conscious and awkward when expressing herself to the Saturn person. Saturn may tend to ignore, interrupt, or criticize Mercury when Mercury is speaking. Saturn might be silent often. Conversations are serious, and words do not flow easily.

In one of my previous relationships, my Mercury squared his Saturn. Mercury rules my 7th house, so communication is very important to me when it comes to relationships. I felt he belittled my opinions and ideas to the point of condescension. He was also much older than me, so he seemed even more patronizing. I definitely felt self-conscious when expressing my ideas to him; I was afraid he would think I was “stupid.”

The harmonious aspects (sextile, trine) between Mercury and Saturn are much easier to handle. The Saturn person gives structure to the Mercury person’s ideas. Saturn also gives practical advice to Mercury, and listens and guides the Mercury person. Mercury looks up to Saturn, and Saturn enjoys helping the Mercury person. Through Saturn, Mercury learns how to communicate in a more mature and level-headed way.

Venus-Saturn in Synastry

My longest relationship featured a tight Saturn square Venus aspect in synastry, wherein I was the Venus person.

This is often known as the “unrequited love” aspect. Why? Saturn represents blockages and restrictions, which can manifest in many forms. Sometimes, the blockages come from external forces. Saturn rules tradition, so couples with this synastry aspect sometimes face opposition from either person’s family. In my case, I was of a different cultural background than my partner. His parents were very traditional and strict, and would have never have approved of our union. Other external restrictions can include a mismatch in terms of age, social status, cultural background, or distance. Either way, there’s usually something in the way of you being together.

Another way in which this manifested was through a withdrawal of affection. I never felt quite comfortable cuddling him, telling him I loved him, or making baby talk with him due to my fear that he would reject that kind of behavior. I censored my feelings of affection for him, and he did the same. He acted somewhat “fatherly” towards me, and I didn’t want to risk his disapproval. Though he never explicitly told me he didn’t want me to go out and have fun with my friends, he would often try to interfere with my plans if he knew I was going out.

Mars-Saturn in Synastry

This is a very negative aspect to share with someone in synastry.

With this aspect, it seems that no matter what the Mars person does, the Saturn person is bothered. Nothing is ever “good enough” for Saturn. The Saturn person usually sees the Mars person as childish and irresponsible.  The Mars person’s energy is the sort that makes the Saturn person very uncomfortable. More specifically, the Mars person’s self-confidence and assertiveness brings out Saturn’s insecurities, and in response, the Saturn person attempts to restrict and limit the Mars person’s actions by telling Mars what to do. Saturn may resort to constantly tearing the Mars person down through criticism and psychological abuse.

It is common for Mars to feel Saturn is condescending and treats Mars like a child. Mars may become angry with this and lash out at the Saturn person. The cycle of criticism and conflict can soon become a vicious cycle. This aspect lends itself to verbally abusive relationships, and can even escalate into physical aggression.

Since Mars is the planet of sex and physical energy, this aspect can also manifest into sexual problems for the couple. Saturn may find the sex disappointed, and Mars may sense this, and lose their sexual confidence. This is an aspect often found in the synastry charts of sexless marriages.

Moon-Moon Aspects in Synastry

Having a hard time figuring out your relationship? Want to know how your mate really feels about you? Order a synastry report at astroladyconsultations@gmail.com for your personalized report!

If your Moon is conjunct your partner’s Moon, you have a great understanding of what makes the other tick. You are naturally empathetic and supportive of one another, due to the fact that you go through moods simultaneously. This aspect also indicates that the two of you bring out emotional excesses in one another, which can be draining over time.

If your Moon is square your partner’s Moon, it is difficult for you to understand each other’s moods and feelings. This is because your moods are out of sync; when one person feels up, the other feels down, and vice-versa. This aspect also indicates dissimilar family backgrounds and upbringings.

In the case of the opposition between two people’s Moons, there may be a tendency to mirror each other’s moods. This, in turn, can bring out strong emotions in one another. You tend to approach emotional issues from opposite directions, so you can learn a lot from one another. Your partner is a perfect “balance” for you.

The trine and sextile aspects between Moons are much easier to handle. In this case, your family backgrounds and upbringings are not conflictual. You are naturally empathetic and supportive of one another, without the damaging emotional excesses indicated by the hard aspects. You easily communicate your feelings to one another.

Moon-Uranus Aspects in Synastry

In Astrology, the Moon represents our emotions, while Uranus represents instability, independence, and originality.

When your Moon makes a hard aspect (conjunction, square, opposition) to another person’s Uranus, the relationship is likely to be unstable and subject to sudden, unpredictable changes. As the Moon, person, you find the Uranus person highly exciting and electrifying at first. You were probably attracted to each other suddenly, and may have blurted out your feelings to one another immediately. However, over time, the Uranus person may begin to withdraw affection. Why is this?

Well, the Moon person has a way of making the Uranus person feel “trapped”. The Uranus person resents any hint of emotional dependency from the Moon person, which can to an on-off energy between the couple. When the Moon person begins to show dependency, the Uranus person withdraws, but may return after he has had enough distance. The Uranus person’s behavior may make the Moon person nervous and put her on edge. As such, the Uranus person is likely to see the Moon person as immature and overly-sensitive, while the Moon person is likely to see the Uranus person as unstable and unreliable.

The trine and sextile aspects between one person’s Moon and another person’s Uranus are easier to handle. This aspect indicates sexual attraction, as well as excitement and fun. You allow each other freedom in emotional expression, and encourage each others’ independence. You feel emotionally liberated by one another. This aspect keeps things from getting dull and boring, which goes a long way in a long-term relationship.

Moon-Neptune in Synastry

When one person’s Moon contacts another person’s Neptune in synastry, a strong compassionate, sensitive, emotional connection is indicated. The Moon person is sensitive to the Neptune person’s dreams and idealizations, while the Neptune person provides unconditional love and understanding to the Moon person. Indeed, this aspect indicates a strong spiritual and emotional bond. You feel like you can read each other’s minds, and can communicate without even speaking a word to each other.

The hard aspects (conjunction, square, opposition), however, can indicate some difficulty. In this case, there is a tendency to misunderstand or confuse each other emotionally. The Moon person may tend to be emotionally dependent on the Neptune person, for the Moon person feels the Neptune person is his or her ideal mate.

The threat of emotional deceit is high when this aspect shows up in synastry. The Moon person may not see the Neptune person clearly; the Moon person may see the Neptune person for the emotionally wonderful, supportive person he thinks the Neptune person is. In order to keep the Moon person’s ideals alive or to gain emotional support or compassion, the Neptune person may “play along” by lying, playing the victim, or pretending to be someone he is not. Even if the Moon person suspects the Neptune person of deceit, they will make excuses for the Neptune person and pretend as though nothing is wrong.

Hard aspects also indicate a great amount of possessiveness and clinginess on the part of the Moon person. Both the Moon and Neptune are highly sensitive planets, which makes this relationship excessively emotional and co-dependent. This is especially damaging if Neptune becomes elusive and distant, as it will greatly upset the Moon person. While this aspect indicates a great amount of compassion and unconditional caring, it can also lead to hurt and disappointment due to lofty ideals of what each person thinks the other person is.

The harmonious aspects (trine, sextile) between the Moon and Neptune in syanstry are wonderful additions to any romantic relationship. This aspect indicates intuitive understanding and sympathy of one another. You are attuned to each other’s feelings and moods, and show support and compassion for one another. There is likely an emotional or psychic link which enables you to sense each other’s thoughts and feelings without having to verbalize them into words.

Moon-Ascendant Aspects in Synastry

The Ascendant represents our self-image, our physical appearance, and the way we project ourselves to the world. The Moon represents our emotions, home, and family. When your Moon makes and aspect to your partner’s Ascendant, or vice-versa, you will be sensitive to each other’s feelings.

In the case of a conjunction between one person’s Moon and another person’s Ascendant, a strong emotional connection is indicated. In this case, the way the Ascendant person projects him or herself has a strong emotional impact on the Moon person. The Moon person provides security to the Ascendant person. As a result, expressing your feelings to one another comes naturally to you both in each other’s presence. You will easily reveal information to one another, no matter how personal the information is! The Moon person is likely to feel dependent on the Ascendant to satisfy her emotional needs. On the downside, this aspect can produce excess emotions, due to the ease in which you express yourselves to one another.

In one of my previous relationships, my ex’s Moon was conjunct my Ascendant. Like the description above suggests, he revealed an incredible amount of personal information to me, almost immediately! He told me he had never felt so comfortable with expressing his emotions to anyone. In fact, he tended to reveal a bit too much; he told me things I didn’t even want or need to know! He was completely dependent on me for emotional support, which I personally found a bit draining. In addition, his physical attraction to me was through the roof. This is because a man’s Moon (along with his Venus) is the prime indicator of what he is looking for in a mate. As such, my physical appearance and self-image were ideal to him. Indeed, he strongly felt I was the one he would marry, but unfortunately, I didn’t feel the same way.

The trine and sextile aspects between one person’s Moon and another’s Ascendant indicate a similar energy as the conjunction, but without the threat of emotional excesses. In this case, you find it easy to express your emotions to one another. This aspect favors affection, warmth and kindness, as well as mutual support. You are sensitive to one another’s moods, and know how to reassure each other. There is a strong feeling of acceptance and feeling loved by one another.

The square aspect between the Moon and Ascendant in synastry can pose some problems for a couple. In this case, you are overly sensitive to one another’s moods, which can lead to disappointments and hurt feelings. The Moon person is likely to display excess emotions to the Ascendant person, which can put the Ascendant person on edge. As emotional outbursts continue, the Ascendant person may feel they are walking on eggshells around the Moon person in order to avoid further emotional chaos. There is a feeling of being misunderstood and unwanted on the part of the Moon person. This aspect can also indicate differences in families or upbringing, which can cause further problems for the couple.

The opposition between the Moon and Ascendant are easier to handle than the square. In fact, this is a common aspect to find in the synastry charts of married couples. In this case, one person’s Moon is conjunct the other person’s Descendant, which indicates the Moon person expresses her emotions in a way that is ideal to the Descendant person. Family and domestic issues are important between the two of you. This aspect indicates a keen awareness of each other’s feelings, which can lead to emotional outbursts and hurt feelings. However, the Moon person is very supportive of the Ascendant person, while the Ascendant person sees the Moon person as nurturing and caring. In fact, the Ascendant person may become dependent on the Moon person for emotional support, and vice-versa.
